Get Involved!

Our school offers some great programs to help foster your child's education and social skills. We strive to incorporate programs that will assist your child's positive growth, both now and in the future.

Academic Opportunities

GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) - The District is committed to enhancing the intellectual development of our students by providing opportunities for increased student learning. In addition to extension opportunities within the general education classroom, GATE students participate in a GATE-only music class every other Friday.

Before & After School Programs

STRETCH - The City of Chula Vista and South Bay Family YMCA conduct the STRETCH Program here at our school. This free program provides structured before and after school activities, including sports clinics, arts and crafts, cooperative games, weekly challenges, and traditional playground games for K - 6th-grade students.

Please remember:

  • Parents must submit registration for STRETCH

  • Students must be picked up promptly after STRETCH is over for the day

Breakfast & Lunch Program

The Chula Vista Elementary School District participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. Meals are served free of charge for every student - every school day.

The cafeteria is open on all school days, including minimum days. Breakfast is offered in the cafeteria each morning starting at 7:40 am. 

Sports Programs

Palomar has a co-ed soccer team for students in grades 4-6. The team plays teams from other schools throughout the district. Students will bring home information regarding tryouts and games.

Visual & Performing Arts

Students receive Art and Music instruction for 90 minutes every other week.  

School Site Council (SSC)

The primary task of the School Site Council is to ensure that the school is continually engaged in identifying and implementing curriculum and instructional practices that strengthen the core academic program while ensuring that students have access to and are successful in that program. The School Site Council is also responsible for updating and implementing the Single Plan for Student Achievement and allocating resources on an ongoing basis.

The Palomar School Site Council comprises the principal, parents, teachers, and other staff members. The School Site Council meets monthly at 3:00 pm via zoom.
